Hello! Happy-halfway-through-the-summer-season. I finished my thesis! I now have something I always wished for a written body of work. This is a really big win for me. Answering the call of the muse, writing deliberately & intentionally, attending a prestigious institution, and being able to publish my work has been a shock to my system. A good one. I have the habit of moving the proverbial goal post, but this time I’m doing a lil Diddy bop in the end zone.
It’s been a hard journey for me to be able to acknowledge my personal victories. What always helps is learning of other people’s wins; the varying wins always shift my perspective helping me to zero in on what’s really important. It’s nice to be reminded that It’s not alway about doing a thing, or having the thing, or evening being the thing. The shift in perspective, brings a whole lotta gratitude. I made it through (yet another) extremely stressful life pivot, and I am safely on the West Coast, embarking on a new phase. Thankfully, this next week I’ll spend OOO with family on vacation. The win is just in continuing to say “Yes” to opportunities and going there—wherever and whatever “there” is without fear.

I am feeling you on this win. Gratz -- it's a big deal. I had never finished undergrad and just returned after decades. Where I grew up, education was not valued and was something I had secretly wanted for myself for so long, and now I get to do it. The moment fear shifts to gratitude, if even for a second, there lives the victory! And So to you... congratulations - with a bigazz Thank You!
